Patriarchal Reservoire

The Patriarchal Reservoir has a perfect octagonal floor plan, with sides of 8.25 m, thus having maximum dimensions of 20 x 20 m. It has a ceiling height of approximately 10 m. The internal usable area is approximately 326.5 m2 and its volume is 3265 m3.

Main materials: mixed masonry, sprayed and painted plaster, limestone (lioz) stonework, water, glass.

Measurement points and source location

The sound source was placed next to the north wall (S1), on top of the metal floor, at height level 1, in a centred position, and also next to the south wall (S2), on top of the metal floor, at height level 2, in a centred position. Two positions were used for the acoustic acquisitions and recordings, one at height level 1 (Pos1) and the other at height level 2 (Pos2). For position S2 of the sound source, two recordings were made: the first finding the microphones pointed in the direction of S1 (i.e., facing “with their backs” to S2) -> Pos1, the second recording finding the microphones pointed towards S2 -> Pos1C.
